DAY 1 Arrival at Bagdogra Airport & Transfer to Phuentsholing

Meet & Greet on arrival at Bagdogra Airport and transfer to Phuentsholing - The Gateway of Bhutan by Road from India. It is a thriving commercial center on the northern edge of the Indian Plains. On arrival check in at the hotel. Overnight stay at Phuentsholing.

DAY 2 Phuentshoing to Paro

After the breakfast, we will drive to see nearby Zangtog Pelri Lhakhang in the heart of the town and Kharbandi Gonpa before proceeding to Thimphu. The drive to Thimphu is very scenic, once we climb up from the Indian plain to Bhutan foot hills through beautiful forest, towns and roadside villages. Our drive will pass through Gedu, Chukha, and Chuzom before emerging ourselves into beautiful Valley of Paro. Check into the hotel, evening we will explore the city by walk. Overnight in Paro, 2200m

DAY 3 Paro sightseeing

After the breakfast, we will drive to Ramthangka from where we will hike to Taktsang Monastery or often called Tiger Nest Temple which is built around a cave in which Guru Rimpoche (also known as Guru Padmasambhava) meditated. The eighth century old monastery is perched on a rock overlooking a sheer drop and clings seemingly impossible to a cliff of rock at 900m above the valley floor. For entire Buddhist around the world, it is place of pilgrimage but for a tourist, it is one of the must visit place before we die. The hike is almost 2 hours walk, uphill at 30 to 40 degree inclined for an average hiker however we might take full day depending on your pace. First of half of the hike which we pull-up, up to cafeteria feels never ending however from the half way due to magical structure right inform us, we are all energized to push further and you actually feel very near. Finally you are done and filled with joys of happiness to be at Taktshang. For the return journey, we actually feel like walking down very fast. After the lovely hike, you need to have relaxing massage at the hotel/enjoy dipping yourself into the hot stone bath (both available on extra cost). Overnight in Paro.

DAY 4 Paro to Punakha sightseeing

After the breakfast, we will prepare to drive to warm valley of Punakha over the most beautiful pass in the country called Dochula pass at 3150m. 108 Druk Wangyel Chortens built over the pass by queen mother in 2003 marks the pass more important and beautiful thus the pass is one the must visit passes in Bhutan. If the weather permits, we can enjoy a spectacular view of the highest mountains of Bhutan at a sight that stretches almost 180 degrees. After a photo break, we will continue our drive downhill from the pass. En-route we will take awesome walk through the rice field of Mesina to Chimi Lhakhang, Temple of fertility. Afternoon, we will visit the most beautiful Punakha Dzong, which houses the most elaborated temple in the country. The Dzong, showcase the finest example of the arts and crafts of Bhutan. DAY 5 Punakha to Phobjikha

Check out of the hotel and visit Chimi Lhakhang on foot, the temple of fertility associated with religious art of phallus. En route visit Wangdi town and continue to Phobjikha over the highest road pass on your trip at 3140m.Visit Gangtey Gompa, the largest and the only monastery of the Nyingmapa sect in western Bhutan.Evening relax in your hotel or take a stroll. Overnight at Phobjikha.

DAY 6 Phobjikha to Trongsa

Check out from the hotel, take a 2 hrs Phobjikha Natural Trail. The trail ends beside Gantey Monastery, further drive to Trongsa over the Pelela pass at 3300m which forms the part of the Black Mountains that divides the country into east and west. In the afternoon visit the watch tower which houses a museum now. A quick stop for photo opportunity at Chendipje and Kukhubji, evening relax in your hotel. Overnight at Trongsa.

DAY 7 Trongsa to Bhumthang

After our leisurely breakfast, we will check out from the hotel and visit watch town recently converted into Trongsa Museum. En-route we will stop at weaving center, which is famous in the region. Evening we will explore the tiny Jakar town. Overnight in Amankora, Jakar. Altitude 2650m.

DAY 8 Bhumthang sightseeing

Visit Jampay Lakhang, the one of the first 2 Buddhist temples built in the country. This is the home of the naked dance that is still performed annually. Visit the Kurjey Temple, the site where Bhutan’s royals are cremated. One can either walk cross the suspension bridge and visit the village of Parar and Tamshing or drive there. End your day with a walk passing by the Swiss farm. Evening stroll in Jakar town and try some local pancakes and noodles. Overnight at Jakar

DAY 9 Bhumthang to Punakha

Today after breakfast transfer to Punakha for a Overnight stay.

DAY 10 Punakha to Thimphu

After breakfast transfer from Punakha to Thimphu. (The capital of Bhutan). Today we have a rest or do shoping. Overnight stay at Thimphu.

DAY 11 Thimphu Sightseeing

Early morning breakfast – Drive and visit the Memorial Chorten (Stupa) built in memory of the third King of Bhutan who ruled the Kingdom from 1952-1972 - Next the National Library where ancient manuscripts are preserved, Wood Craft and Painting School - The handicrafts Emporium where Bhutanese textiles and other arts and crafts are displayed and can be purchased - Simtokha Dzong, one of the oldest fortresses in Bhutan built by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1629 A.D - Browse through example of Bhutan's fine traditional arts. Here you can buy hand-woven textiles, thangkha paintings, masks, ceramics, slate and wood carvings, jewelry, interesting items made from local materials – Night stay at Thimpu.

DAY 12 Thimphu to Phuentsholing

After breakfast in Paro, we start our journey back to Phuntsholing for an overnight stay. On arrival in Phuntsholing, we visit the popular tourist destinations of Zangtopelri Lhakhang and Karbandi Monastery. Return for dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel

DAY 13 Departure

It is time to say goodbye until we meet again… After the morning breakfast, you will be taken for drop off at the Bagdogra Airport for your return journey home. With a mind full of memories and a phone full of selfies.

IMPORTANT NOTE

  • For all the travelers it is necessary to carry original Voter ID or Passport to travel to Bhutan.
  • In case of child it is required to carry Birth Certificate along with School ID card.
  • A permit is required for travel to Punakha. We will get the permit for our customers.
  • To get the permit we need to submit 2 copies of passport size photograph, clear scanned copies of the voter ID card and Passport for adults and for Kids the copy of Birth Certificate. It is mandatory to carry the same.

Entry Permit

Indian Nationals travelling between Bhutan & India do not need Visa. An identity document, be it either passport or an election commission I. D card is, however required for presentation at the immigration during entry, to obtain an entry permit along with 04 passport size photographs. Indian Nationals travelling between Bhutan and Nepal require valid passport as per Nepalese immigration regulation.

Route Permit

It is required for those travelling to restricted areas beyond Dochula pass. The Route Permit is processed & issued in Thimphu, only after arrival in Bhutan and on production of the Entry Permit. Two copies of passport size photos required while processing Route Permit. Also this permit can be processed only during working days (Mon-Fri) and applications are accepted from 9-11 a.m. and permit granted on same day from 3-5 p.m in summer and 3-4 p.m. in winter.
